Proud member of the 60+ Freedom Pass Crew and a native Londoner, with roots hailing back to Windrush immigrants from that tiny Caribbean island, Saint Lucia, where Julien Alfred, 2024 Olympic 

women's 100 meters gold medalist, was born and bred.

 Having lived in Tower Hamlets for years, I encountered many from the Bengali community here. At first, we were just fellow gym-goers or strangers at the Isle of Dogs ASDA, each going about our lives. 

But over time, I really started to engage with their culture, and it’s been an amazing journey in the community.
